Infinity #3, Introspection
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. Proverbs 18:2
We live in a day and age where this push to discover yourself leads to a very misguided and dangerous introspection. As infinite created beings, we can never know ourselves entirely, only God can do that. When we become focused on “discovering ourselves” that opens us up to Satanic manipulation of our feelings and reasoning. As a result, we hear in the news and tabloids all sorts of bizarre things happening.
When we think we can really figure everything out by this deep introspection, that places us into the area of thinking we are the gods of our own lives. That is were a Christian must put his trust and faith in God and his Word. When we do this, then we are told this:
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5
This Fallen world we live in locks us into a very finite understanding of things. Only God and his Word can give us the correct blueprint for staying on the right path of truth and understanding. The Mandelbrot should help to humble us into realizing our limitations. Then our reliance upon God, who is unbounded, makes perfect sense.
Further dealings with infinity and the Mandelbrot will bring out many more facets that I hope will lead you to rely more and more upon God and his guiding word – the Bible.
Till next time, God bless.
